The May 2020 issue of the International Association of Museum Facilities Administrators’ (IAMFA) Papyrus Magazine features an article by Abby Tourtellotte and Carolina Uechi on the Smithsonian Institution’s Molina Family Latino Gallery. The article explores how Quinn Evans leveraged sensory mapping to inform the design of this new gallery space located in the American Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC. The 4,500 square foot gallery is the very first dedicated Smithsonian space that celebrates the US Latino experience. The design features fully accessible and universally designed exhibition space rich in dynamic digital technologies.
